My girlfriend and myself are going to making a request for our sons birthday and holiday gifts. We’ve come to realize during a shopping trip trying to find a birthday present for my 9 year old nephew that kids will just waste whatever it is you give them. Either by breaking it, not liking it, growing out of that particular interest soon after you buy it or by a million other ways. So here came the thought that if we asked everyone to take 50% or more of their intended gift amount and give it to us for a trust fund, the money will ultimately be better spent. This idea may not be new to some, I’m sure somebody has thought of it by now. But it’s new to us and we like it.
